Southport is a great choice of destination for your holiday and we would be delighted to host you in our beautiful home! |
As your research may have already revealed, Southport is a great choice of destination for your holiday and we would be delighted to host you in our beautiful home! This place is very special to us, and we are now in the fourth generation of family members that have enjoyed summer vacations and growing up at Southport. We have only recently decided to begin renting our house out so that others can hopefully make their own memories and experiences of what Southport has to offer.
It’s a great spot to use as a base for fishing, diving, beach walks, surfing, relaxing with a glass of wine, reading a good book by the fire, or to head-off on one of the many excellent hiking trails in the area. The location in the far south of Tasmania is also the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the amazing Southern lights (Aurora) given the absence of any light pollution. We trust that if you decide to stay at Southport that you will enjoy the place as much as we do. Yours Sincerely The Cunningham Family |
The property is spread over 1,400m2 of land with virtual water frontage and access, however the house is set back from the road to ensure maximum privacy as well as a tranquil setting.

This can be found in both Google maps, Waze and most car navigation systems. |
If coming from Hobart, take the Southern outlet highway and head in the direction of Huonville, from there you will pass through Franklin, Geeveston and then Dover.
Once you will be approx 5km from Southport you will need to follow the signs and turn left to Southport (don't go right to Hastings Caves). You will then pass the Pub/Shop on the left hand side. Continue straight on until you reach the T-junction at the water where the jetty is. Turn-right and cross a small wooden bridge. Continue onto the end of the road. Seaclusion has a large sign in the front garden with the name of the property and is the 7th house from the end of the road (note: the boat launching ramp 100m from the house is the end of the road).. |
There are many activities in the area to keep you busy during your stay such as:
|
- A visit to Hastings Caves & thermal springs.
- A drive to Cockle Creek to visit the “bronze whale” & the start of many hiking trails. - Roaring Beach for a surf or picturesque walk Walk into Southport Lagoon (8km return). - Duckhole lake walk 1.5 hours (4.2 km return). - The South Cape Bay Track (4 hrs return / 7.7 km one way). - A visit to the Tahune Airwalk & Tasmania’s tallest tree. - Hartz peak walk (3hrs / 7km return trip). - Fishing from the beach . - Enjoying a beer and good meal in Australia’s Southern-most pub! - Animal watching: Spot the local echidna, a pair of Sea Eagles or the rare albino Bennet’s wallaby. Dolphins (and a local resident seal) can sometimes also be spotted from the beach in the Lune river. - And one of the best places to watch the Aurora... |
